As anticipated, there was no announcement from BMW Sauber regarding the identity of its reserve and test driver during yesterday's official launch of the F1.08 in Munich.

The team has been without a third driver since losing both its 2007 incumbents to full race drives in Formula One, with Sebastian Vettel joining Toro Rosso and Timo Glock graduating to Toyota on the back of his GP2 title success, but appears in no rush to name a replacement. Team boss Mario Theissen told Crash.net in November that it would be evaluating several candidates during winter testing, and the process will continue even after the team's unveiling.

Last month, reigning British F3 champion Marko Asmer joined GP2 race winner Javier Villa in running with the team, and the Estonian is due back behind the wheel in Valencia this week. Villa's future with the team is less clear, especially given that he is expected to race in GP2 for a third season with Racing Engineering. Theissen does not expect a final decision on a reserve to be made before the end of January.
