Grosjean, meanwhile, is expected to concentrate on his dual GP2 campaign in Asia and Europe, having made a flying start to the former with two wins in Dubai last weekend. When it comes to making his F1 debut, however, di Grassi reckons that the 21-year old Swiss-born Frenchman will find it less of a step between the two classes.

"The cars are more similar this year without electronic aids," he said, "The F1 car is much faster and requires a different technique to drive, but the GP2 car is as close as you can get to F1 machinery and it is a great school."
