“Kimi and Hamilton will be my main rivals," he claimed, happy to include himself among the title contenders, "I'm not sure about [Heikki] Kovalainen, it is not possible to say 100 per cent at this stage [whether he will also be in the running].

"Meanwhile, it is better for us to see Alonso in a Renault than in a McLaren because, at this time, it appears that Renault is not as strong as McLaren seems to be.”
