"It is clear Ferrari is one of the best," the 26-year old admitted, before trying to temper the comment, "It's early to talk about moves and rumours, but [Felipe] Massa has had two bad races with mistakes and that has kicked off speculation. It's logical, but it's too early."

One thing is certain, however, and that is that Alonso is happier battling for a point with Renault that he would have been had he remained at McLaren.

"This year, we are going to suffer, and I know that we will go to Bahrain in the same situation as Malaysia, but the suffering is a lot less than that of last year," he admitted.
