Crash.net is delighted to announce that its 2008 traffic to date has grown by a colossal 78 per cent year-on-year, with that figure continuing to increase as
Formula One returns to European soil.
The announcement is a further boost to the global motorsport portal and community owned by Crash Media Group (CMG) - which is chaired by Sir Robin Miller and headed by Bryn
Williams – following the news in late 2007 that
Crash.net had peaked as the most read motorsport website in the UK according to Hitwise statistics.
The newly released figures continue to exceed all expectations within CMG, which is also responsible for publishing the iconic titles Autocourse, Motocourse and Rallycourse, with extensive work 'behind the scenes' and strong editorial content covering both two-wheeled and four-wheeled racing having been key to the continued success of the company.
"The growth is due mainly to extensive technical and SEO activity which has been undertaken in-house," Martin Nolan, co-founder and technical director commented. "As well as that, comprehensive content is always going to be a factor in attracting a new audience and retaining loyal users, and our range of content is also unrivalled within the market.
"Therefore, it's no surprise to us that we're able to compete head on with our higher profile competitors."
Simon Sanderson, commercial director of CMG, indicated that the company is planning a comprehensive SEO campaign in the run up to the British Grand Prix in July as well as adding new and innovative content to the
Crash.net site for 2008 in an effort to continue its upward growth.
"Our focus is very much on growing the traffic and developing the already substantial motorsport community that we posses," he said. "Utilising our iconic titles and historic content within Autocourse, Motocourse and Rallycourse will also play an important part in our future, as the appetite for both current and historic content continues to grow."
