Williams'
Nico Rosberg is convinced that the Grove-based operation will be able to take a step forward this coming weekend in Turkey and score more points.
Rosberg was set to add to his tally two weeks ago in Spain, despite having struggled to get the set-up right in practice.
However in the end it was all academic as he had to retire two thirds of the way through the event when his
Toyota engine blew up in spectacular style.
Now the German is raring to go and is confident the FW30 will go well at the purpose-built Istanbul Speed Park, which only made its debut in the
FIA F1 World Championship in 2005.
Indeed last year Nico qualified eighth and finished in seventh and a repeat of that would be no disaster for him and
Williams.
"I'm looking forward to Turkey. It was our strongest race last year in terms of pace in comparison to the front runners so I think we can do well there," Rosberg reasoned. "The circuit itself is great and it should suit our car.
"We've spent some time analysing our performance in Spain, where we took the wrong set-up direction with the car in the opening sessions.
"We've learnt from that mistake so we should definitely take a step forward this weekend. I'm looking forward to it."
Kazuki Nakajima meanwhile got his second points finish of the year in Barcelona and that has set the Japanese star up well for the latest round in the series.
"I'm not particularly familiar with Turkey's circuit, but I did race there last year in GP2 and liked the track so hopefully I can do a good job for the team in my debut there in an F1 car. I will try my best to get a good result and score some more points," he added.
