Under-fire
FIA president
Max Mosley should be allowed to at least see out his term, that's the view of Sir
Stirling Moss.
Mosley has been under pressure ever since the exposure on the front page of British tabloid newspaper,
The News of the World at the end of March and while the sex scandal has left many calling for his resignation, Moss reckons he should stay in the post.
"My take on it is that I like him and I know him," Sir Stirling told
Crash.net Radio at Cars International's 'Mille Miglia - Then and Now' event in London earlier this week. "I was amazed to see what he was doing. But then people do that.
"I think that he carries out his job as head of the FIA extremely well. I must say I hope he will stay on for his term [which comes to an end next year] because I think he does a very good job at what he does.
"I can see people saying his position is untenable and probably it is. But that is a problem I know nothing about. As a man of talent, that does that job - I think he has done quite a good one."
Tony Jardine meanwhile was also at that event in Kensington - in part used to highlight
BBC chef James Martin's outing on this year's Mille Miglia - and the
Sky Sports presenter added in a separate interview with
Crash.net Radio that it is up to Max to decide whether he should stay or go.
"The World Motor Sport Council is going to make a decision on Max and I think the biggest thing you can really say about it is that Max is a fighter. He believes passionately that what he did was in private and that is up to him to defend and for others to judge," Jardine added.
"I think that people like myself, who are inside the sport, say you know what: 'he has done a great job in the past and he has done a fabulous job for road safety'. I have always admired the way he has worked.
