Formula One's only French representative, Sebastien Bourdais, is keen to put on a good show for his fans at Magny-Cours, but was struggling for set-up on Friday.

"I don't really know what happened [this morning]. We were extremely unhappy with the balance and, while this afternoon was better, we're still not quite sure that we get the understanding of the car. We knew that it was going to be a learning process - we have good references with the STR2B and it is great to know exactly what was working for me, but now, basically, we have to start all over again and just hope we can get it done on time to have a good result here.

"We will see what we can use from [Vettel's] side but, since we are in the press conference, I cannot tell you much as I am not sure what they have done! It is obviously difficult to judge what happens on a Friday as you don't really know what people are running in terms of fuel loads and stuff, but I think the test was quite interesting for us in Barcelona. We come back to a track which pretty much uses the same aero configuration, so there was the opportunity to start with something and not a blank page, so that was quite nice."
