Robert Kubica believes the British Grand Prix will play a pivotal role in how the rest of the Formula 1 season pans out.

The team will head into the Silverstone event on the back of three days of testing at the Northamptonshire venue this past week and Kubica said he felt that the event would be a key one in establishing the true order in the championship between the respective teams.

"It's not only the gap with Ferrari [we have to try and close] - we can also take it for granted that McLaren will also be there," he said. "Moreover, we have seen Toyota and Renault are in better shape. So I think that Silverstone, and also Hockenheim, will somehow become the turning point of the season, with everybody challenging everybody else in order to find their real positioning in both the drivers' and constructors' championships.

"The test at Silverstone was altogether positive and I think that some good decisions were taken. Obviously, the answer [as to whether it will close the gap to Ferrari] will come next week."
