Formula 1 » Nakajima: Our car goes well at these tracks.

Wednesday, 20th August 2008

Kazuki Nakajima is looking to get back into the points for the European Grand Prix.

Comment on this Story
Kazuki Nakajima is anticipating a good performance in the European Grand Prix as he seeks to make the most of being on a level playing field for the first time this season.

The rookie has enjoyed a good year with Williams so far and heads to the 11th round of the season level on points with more fancied team-mate Nico Rosberg.

However, with qualifying proving his let down so far as he adapts to circuits unknown to him in a Formula 1 car, Nakajima has the rare advantage of experiencing a track that no other driver on the grid has driven before.

Also pointing out the team's strong pace at Monaco and Montreal, the tracks most akin to the Valencia street circuit, Nakajima has high hopes of a good result in Spain.

"I'm looking forward to a good race in Valencia. The new track looks great, and should be really interesting to race on. As at Monaco and Montreal, our car goes well at these kinds of tracks, so I'm hoping we'll put in a good performance there.

“It shouldn't take too long for the drivers to get used to the circuit, and for the first time the rest of the grid will be learning it with me!”
