Formula 1 to speak out against
Max Mosley during the
FIA President's
News of the World sex scandal earlier this year has countered
Bernie Ecclestone's assertion that the grand prix paddock should now embrace Mosley again and get back to normal business.
Last week,
F1 supremo Ecclestone a long-time friend, ally and business partner of Mosley's but equally a man who argued at the height of the furore that the 68-year-old should resign suggested that the president should come back and he should carry on like he's normally carried on' [see separate story
click here]. Habitually outspoken
Red Bull Racing star Webber, however, disagrees.
I appreciate Bernie has a point in a way, the Australian is quoted as having told the
Press Association in Spa-Francorchamps ahead of this weekend's Belgian Grand Prix. The best thing for the sport is that it is forgotten, but it is easier said than done.
Whilst Ecclestone asserted that Mosley should be remembered for the positive contributions he has made to the world of motoring and motor racing particularly in terms of improving safety Webber believes the reality may be otherwise.
We read newspapers because it is full of bad news, the 31-year-old contended. No-one likes to read about good news.
We only remember things for negative and bad stuff. No-one wants to talk about anyone doing a great job. That just doesn't happen.
