Carlin: A busy, busy year.

In the latest column for the Carlin team, team principal Trevor Carlin looks back over a busy campaign for his team and talks exclusively about the announcement of a move into GP2 for the 2007 season.

One of our main aims over the winter is to get our new factory in Chessington fully functional. The former Brabham F1 facility will be the base for both our World Series and GP2 cars and has a wind tunnel which should help development hugely. We are already making use of it on our F3 programme and I think it will become invaluable as time goes on.

It’s almost like we’ve bought a piece of history at Chessington, the factory is full of old Brabham relics and pictures and that is something we’re keen to preserve. It’s great that the base of a once-great British motorsport team is now being taken over by young British team with big ambitions.

We’ve achieved a lot in the last nine years and a lot in the last twelve months alone. I’m confident that we’ll continue to grow and reach new levels of success. Who knows where we’ll be this time next year?!
