In testing we ended up where we thought we would be to be honest. We did experience a lot of gremlins – we had problems with the brakes, with uprights, with dampers, but we persevered. We started doing proper engineering to get the car to a level where it was running 100 per cent. It took four of our seven tests to achieve that. Over the last three tests we feel we have reached a milestone with the car, and have already taken four tenths out of it. Now we are within seven tenths of what the outright pace is.
I think this is probably going to be one of the toughest seasons in British F3 for the last ten years, with the biggest entry the championship has ever had and one that has outshone the F3 Euroseries by ten cars. We are aware it will be very difficult with the experienced teams all established on their Dallara chassis’, but we are setting our goals properly. We are hoping to get into the top ten in the first three races, by mid-season we want to be in the top six and by the end we aim to be on the podium. We definitely have the drivers and engine package to do that, so it’s down to us now to develop the car.
Roll on Oulton Park!
