That made the gap between the two races quite interesting, and we had to call to get a few parts so Esteban could actually get out for race two. It was quite a close-run thing but again good for the team. When you’re up against it and working at that kind of speed it does give you a buzz to get the car out. It was a job well done by everybody, and Esteban then went out and repaid our efforts by finishing seventh like Mick had done in the first race.
We’re now very much looking forward to Rockingham this weekend. It’s difficult to believe we’re at the end of the season – it’s seemed to be a very short one, with lots of work in-between! We’ll certainly be pushing for that podium finish. We’ve got two more shots left at it, and there’s no reason why we can’t be well up in the pecking order and in with a shout.
As long as we can give them the machinery to do the job, both drivers will definitely be on it. It would be nice to get into the top three in qualifying again, but we’ll just see what happens. We’ve had a good season anyhow, but it would be really good for everybody involved if we can get that podium. It would be a reward for everybody.
One final thing will be the addition of two grid girls to the Ultimate Motorsport line-up. All year we’ve suffered with not having any, so we decided to do something for the last race and a competition has been run and the winners decided. It should be a good weekend, and hopefully we’ll all enjoy it.
Keep your fingers crossed for us!
