Preview: F3 Euro Series - Norisring.

Since the start of the season, Australian Ryan Briscoe has won four out of six races in the new Formula 3 Euro Series. Only German Timo Glock and Brazilian Fabio Carbone have broke the dominance of Toyota's Formula 1 test driver so far.

After the street circuit of Pau, the seventh and eighth round of the Formula 3 Euro Series will be taking place at the Norisring street circuit in Nuremberg, Germany this weekend.

A novelty for this event: four drivers will not be taking part in the two races this weekend. The street course only allows a maximum number of 26 cars in the race. All 30 drivers, the impressive entry for the inaugural season of the series, will be taking part in qualifying. The battle for the first and the last row on the grid will be equally hard.

Knowledge of this race track will be a particular advantage for the first practice sessions, although in Pau, Briscoe and Carbone had their names written on the winners' list at their first-ever race at the circuit. Following a rather unsuccessful weekend at Pau, Bernhard Auinger (Superfund TME) will be looking for revenge. He was on pole at the Norisring last year and came second in the race. With the three drivers Olivier Pla, Fabio Carbone and Timo Glock separated by only three points, there is a fierce battle for the runner-up position behind points leader Briscoe.

Two new drivers will be making their real appearance in the Formula 3 Euro Series. Bruno Spengler and Robert Kubica, who had both been sidelined after accidents prior to the season will be starting their campaigns this weekend.

After his serious accident in testing at Dijon (France), the Canadian driver of the team ASM F3 is quite confident: ''My motivation is still the same, my season is starting right now. I will take it easy and I will learn, so that I can maybe score podium finishes and race wins towards the end of the season.''
