The home flag will be carried by Euroseries regulars Charles Zwolsman and Robert Doornbos, the latter having become the pin-up of the event after landing Marlboro backing for his Team Ghinzani entry. The Dutch youngster has been banging in promising performances all season, and could be poised to give the event sponsor a memorable return on its investment.
Although the F3 events take centre stage this weekend, Marlboro's involvement also ensures that the Masters crowd get to witness the usual array of spectacular demonstrations.
This year, both the
Ferrari F1 and Ducati
MotoGP teams will be in attendance, with Ferrari test drivers Luca Badoer and
Felipe Massa lapping together with Ducati riders
Loris Capirossi and
Troy Bayliss. Racing legend Randy Mamola will also be present with his unique Ducati MotoGP two-seater.
The race programme is not entirely F3-orientated either, and includes several other categories, such as the German V8STAR series, Formula Renault and one-make tin-top outings for Renault, Alfa Romeo and Toyota.
