Danilo Dirani got his British F3 International series start off to a very impressive start with a double victory at Donington Park after taking an emphatic victory in the second race of the day.

Once more there was a safety car on track before the first lap had even been completed, as Charlie Hollings and Bruno Senna ended up stranded on circuit in an incident which Stephen Jelley further back in the field spun to avoid, but stayed in the race.

The safety car peeled in at the end of the fourth lap and Dirani once more played his hand to perfection, whilst behind him Dan Clarke wasn't asleep on th restart as he admitted he was in the first race, but did have an issue later in the lap which allowed Marko Amser and Mike Conway through.

Clarke's issue meant that he will at least receive a note of thanks from Brazil as Dirani was 2.3 seconds to the good after the second lap without a safety car at the head of the field.

Marko Asmer stayed in the full charge mode he'd employed in race one and set about the task of homing in on the P1 Motorsport Lola. Further behind the National class had seen Barton Mawer work his magic on the restart and hold a considerable lead in class as he plotted his plan of attack on Susie Stoddart's Dallara in front of him.

Dirani has his lead up to 3.1 seconds by the end of lap six, but Asmer was soon closing that in, narrowing it down to 2.7 and then 2.1 seconds on the next laps, setting fastest laps in the process.

Behind the lead duo the field lined up Conway, Clarke, Kane, Bakkerud, Walker, and then Tim Bridgeman who had charging race one fastest lap holder Ryan Lewis giving him plenty to think about.

The lead Dirani enjoyed was down to 1.7 seconds by the end of lap ten, but that was the smallest it was to be as Dirani kept to the mission at hand whilst Asmer's attentions were soon taken by a closing Mike Conway and Daniel Clarke. Further back Ryan Lewis had found a way past Bridgman and now had James Walker in front of his T Sport car.
