Hamilton completes crushing Monaco double.

Saturday, 21st May 2005

Lewis Hamilton continued on his merry way towards a likely F3 Euroseries title by winning his sixth event of the season, and his second in what turned out to be a dominant Monaco weekend.

“To finish second in Monaco is a major success and has to be assessed similarly as my third place in last year’s support race of the French Grand Prix at Magny-Cours," Duval reasoned, "I delivered a far better performance than yesterday but, once again, I was hampered by oversteer and had to give my very best to secure this result.”

“Following my disappointing start to the season, I have to say that third place is a good result," Perera added, "I had some bad luck in the qualifying session, therefore, I didn’t succeed in securing a better grid position, but we have worked hard to reduce the gap to ASM and third place has been a nice reward for this effort.”

The 40-minute race - ten minutes longer than the half-hour the Euroseries drivers are used to - saw several incidents on the unforgiving streets. Nobody was hurt, but Giedo van der Garde, Richard Antinucci, Guillaume Moreau and Kohei Hirate all joined Sutil on the sidelines.
