Carlin Motorsport's Alvaro Parente took the second red-flagged race of the day at the Wiltshire circuit of Castle Combe in the British F3 International Series.
Parente retained his position at the head of the field after starting from pole position, whilst team-mate Charlie Kimball was once more pressurising his team-mate for the majority of the race.
Kimball was unfortunate to suffer a slowly deflating front left tyre which finally let go on spectacular fashion as the twenty-second lap was about to begin. Kimball's Dallara span on coming out of Camp, meaning he came to a rest right in the path of the following Danny Watts and Dan Clarke.
My left front going down, every lap worse and worst, it was all going to be close, but it finally de-beaded in the last corner, and then I just closed my eyes and held on, Kimball said of his accident which brought out the red flag to finish the race.
I nearly died there it was so close, quipped Watts of his avoidance of Kimball's Carlin car. I think I'm a cat; I've got nine lives.
The final podium spot was taken by Double R Racing's Dan Clarke, who funnily enough normally receives driver coaching from the man who finished the race in front of him.
I'm not sure Danny's going to have a job to go back to now, said Clarke with a smile afterwards. It's good to get on the podium, it was a very tough race.
National class honours went the way of Barton Mawer who took the lead on the first lap.
