I mentioned the Mercedes runners right at the start and I think that they have the edge on us a little bit so far this season but we are definitely not giving up. Carlin, from both the drivers and the engineers point of view, are fighting very hard to catch up and to be honest I think we will make the progress to do it and catch them up. We have been quick at every race, ok they have been a little quicker, but Oliver, Maro and I have all been there or thereabouts. In the second race at
Donington we were quicker than Conway and Walker who were ahead of us so I’m not giving up hope that’s for sure.
Oli and Maro are in their first year with the team and I feel that they have settled in really well. Both are good drivers and we all get on really well. We can share data and discuss problems we are having both on and off the track so I am very pleased with the team-mates I have. It also helps that they are quick drivers because they push you on yourself all the time – it makes a big difference.
They have come into the team to replace the champion Alvaro Parente, who was in something like his fourth or fifth season of F3 and was very experienced. I was able to take a lot from him but I think that I get on better with Oli and Maro as we are quite similar guys to me and it is nice to have a bit of fun with them. Of course we all know when to be serious, but it pans out quite out well for us that we can have a bit of fun together.
