Conway closes in on coveted crown.

With early season runaway pace-setter Bruno Senna on pole position ahead of his championship leading team-mate Mike Conway, the first of the Lloyds TSB Insurance British Formula 3 races at the weekend promised to be a battle royale between the two Raikkonen Robertson Racing charges.

His team-mate added: “The first race was good. I had good pace but was just struggling over the first few laps to find grip on the circuit. I thought on the re-start maybe I could overtake Mike and I got into his tow, but he had good speed through the Becketts and Maggots complex and I didn’t have enough momentum. Without the safety car perhaps the result could have been different but these things happen in motor racing. Maybe next time.”
