Having utterly dominated the Formula Three Euro Series Championship this year,
Lewis Hamilton produced a fitting end to the year, with yet another peerless display of controlled driving at Hockenheim, crossing the finish line first from pole position.
The win means that the ASM Dallara-Mercedes driver has successfully won 15 of the 20 rounds this year – three-quarters of the championship victories. A three second margin was enough to see the youngster take the win ahead of Guillaume Moreau in second place and
Sebastian Vettel in third.
A clutch problem for the star of Saturday, Maximilian Götz in the second ASM car, saw him drop late on from third to fourth, while Loic Duval and Franck Perera rounded off the top five.
As for the other Brits, Paul di Resta collided with Götz forcing him out of the race, while James Rossiter and Ben Clucas finished in ninth and 14th.
With no plans as to where he will be racing next year, Hamilton hinted that he may not be staying in Euro Series in 2006, although he claims that he won't mind staying put.
"To win my final Formula 3 Euro Series race represents a great result. Altogether, I delivered a fantastic season and I wouldn't mind if I could continue this way, next year – no matter where I will be racing."
