Lola again showed its fine form in the German F3 Championship last weekend at the Nurburgring with two wins and an all-Lola podium in Sunday's race topped off by Britain's Joey Foster moving into the lead of the championship.
Race one saw the young Cornish driver rapidly shoot from sixth on the grid to third with some decisive overtaking moves in the blue and yellow Technik Lola.
Foster eventually managed to pass leader Riccardo Azzoli on the drying circuit and managed to streak to the flag with the winning margin some six seconds, with Azzoli second and Technik team mate Harald Schlegelmilch third, to take his fourth win out of seven races in the series
Sunday's race saw a repeat for Foster who once again had to work his way through the field on damp track as Ferdinand Kool in the JB Motorsport Lola started from pole but could do nothing to prevent the hard-charging Foster who soon caught the Dutch driver.
Foster was joined on the race two podium by Chinese driver Ho-Pin Tung and Kool in the Lola's, meaning after four meetings, Foster leads Tung by five points with Kool in third.
"As in the first race, the car was fantastic," said Foster after the weekend's work. "Ferdinand was driving well and was quick but on one lap he got baulked at the final corner and I managed to get a tow on him down to the hairpin. It was tight but I made it and held him off around the outside for the following left hander.
"It was an excellent weekend, " added Foster. "I have never been in a team and driven a car like the Lola. They are just so good. I am very grateful to HS Technik team boss Mr Hascic and the HS Technik team for having the faith in me. I am sure that there will be more success in the coming races and we will be working hard to ensure that we keep and extend the points lead that we now have."
