"I was up front and building up a lead until the safety car came out," Tung reported, "We missed some speed on the straights and, after the safety car period, I lost a couple of places and was back in fourth. However, I was able to finish the race in second place and score some vital points."
Antunes started race two in prime position to double his F3 victory tally, but stalled on the grid, allowing Tung straight into fourth. The points leader then overtook JB team-mate Kool for third and, after another safety car period, passed van der Zande for second. It looked as though he may have to settle for another second until he caught and passed Schlegelmilch on the last lap, pulling out of the slipstream and resisting stern defence from the erstwhile leader - including a clash of wheels - to claim his seventh win of the season. Schlegelmilch, meanwhile, had led throughout, only to finish fourth.
"It was a great race," Tung smiled, aware that the title was in his pocket, "My team changed a couple of things on the car which improved the top speed over race one, but the hardest part was to overtake my team-mate, because he uses exactly the same car. It's great to win the championship in style with a race win!"
