After securing the runner-up slot in the Formula Palmer Audi championship, Viktor Jensen got to enjoy his first taste of Formula Three machinery at
Snetterton when he joined his title rival Jon Barnes in spending a day with championship winning side Carlin.
Driving at the high-speed Norfolk venue for the first time since the FPA races back in July, when he took a brace of second place finishes, Jensen was quickly up to speed in his new surroundings and wracked up 96 laps over the course of the day – the 18-year-old posting a time of 1min 03.24secs, three-hundredths of a second faster than Barnes.
His best time was also just three and half tenths of a second behind British F3 regular Alberto Valerio, who showed the pace in his debut season to claim a podium finish when the series visited Mugello.
“This has been a great opportunity to run with the highly respected Carlin Motorsport team and to show that I am ready for British F3, one of the most competitive
series in the world,” Jensen said. “To test with Carlin is a great start.
"Both the grip and also the down force were much stronger than I've been used to; but I feel that I am more than capable of making the step up."
