The Motor Sports Association, has paid tribute to British driver Paul di Resta after he followed
F1 hopeful
Lewis Hamilton in securing the Formula Three Euro Series championship title.
The 20-year-old becomes the third British driver, after Hamilton and Jamie Green, to claim the crown, with a top ten finish in the penultimate race at Hockenheim enough to put him out of reach of
BMW Sauber test driver Sebastien Vettel who finished the season in second.
"The achievement of Paul di Resta is truly outstanding and hugely significant for UK motor sport, MSA chief executive Colin Hilton said. What is especially pleasing is that like so many other aspiring F1 drivers, Paul began his career in UK karting before graduating to the Formula Renault UK Championship.
His success in the F3 Euro Series, added to that of Jamie Green and Lewis Hamilton in previous years, is a great inspiration for all young drivers currently racing in the junior categories in the UK.
