Viktor Jensen was unable to repeat his form from
Oulton Park on a difficult second weekend of racing for the British F3 International Series at
Donington Park.
The 19-year-old had secured podium finishes in the National Class during the opening rounds of the season and headed to Donington looking to build on those performances in his Alan Docking Racing Dallara.
Having qualified on the fourth row amongst the National Class runners for the opening race, Jensen battled his way through to fifth place before being forced off track – with the incident ripping an air valve from the front right tyre of his car. With a slow puncture, Jensen limped to the finish in ninth place, having to abandon the car just after crossing the line at the end.
In the second race, Jensen rocketed past four cars off the line; and from sixth place on the grid rapidly found himself alongside the National Class leader, Michael Meadows.
With conditions having been made tricky by light rain falling just before the start of the race, Jensen spun off the track, rejoining at the back of the field before battling his way though to seventh place when the chequered flag fell.
“On the whole, I have to say that the weekend was disappointing for me,” Jensen admitted. “However, there were a few very positive things to take from the races, like my quick starts and determination.
“The team and I will now work towards the next race, a never before seen street race in Bucharest on May 20th, where I'm sure that I will be fighting for podium places once again.”
