Carlo van Dam to drive Volkswagen-powered RC Motorsport car in F3 Euroseries finale at Hockenheim.

New German F3 Cup winner Carlo van Dam has been rewarded with a drive with RC Motorsport in the Formula 3 Euroseries finale at Hockenheim.

Having taken the German title driving for Van Amersfoort Racing with eight victories to his name, van Dam will replace Jonathan Summerton in the team for the final round of the European series.

Taking to the seat of the Volkswagen-powered machine, the 21-year-old Dutchman was delighted – and surprised – to be making the step up to the premier F3 series so soon.

"I'm very happy and proud to be able to make the step-up to the Formula 3 Euro Series so soon with Volkswagen. It's a fantastic feeling to know that my performances in the German Cup have been noticed

"The pressure of competition is significantly greater in the European series,” acknowledges the Netherlander. "The team is new to me, and the track is new to the team – nevertheless, I hope that we can spring a surprise.”
