Callum McLeod has completed two days of testing with the Ultimate Motorsport F3 team as his reward for finishing the Formula Ford Championship as the highest placed Mygale runner.
The 19-year-old impressed the team with his feedback as he was put through a test programme to assess his ability in and out of the car, with bad weather on Tuesday meaning he was given the chance to complete a full day in the dry on Wednesday.
"Callum's ability in the car was there for all to see during this test, engineer Andy Richardson said. He has the talent of car control and a great understanding despite this being his first experience of an F3 car.
"His feedback and comments were very, very good in fact, he is probably one of the best drivers I have dealt with at doing that and that reflects on what he has achieved in Formula Ford.
"During his test he was involved in developing the Mygale car further and so he did not set a competitive lap time. We tried to take the car somewhere new and he helped tremendously, with his feedback, in that process.
"The car was oversteering and it is not easy to deal with. The car caught him out twice, but that is the nature of testing around Pembrey and he has done a very good job in his two days."
