“In their first season, Ultimate Motorsport have risen to the challenge in the world's most competitive Formula 3 Championship,” she said. “Their team attitude and paddock presentation have been excellent and they raced with the brand new Mygale F3 chassis against the dominant Dallaras, raising a few eyebrows with their competitive performances at every round of the 2007 series. They have been a very welcome addition to the British F3 paddock, and I very much look forward to seeing them back next season.”
Ultimate will indeed return to the British F3 International Series in 2008, in addition to expanding their operation through a merger with the French-based Signature équipe
(see separate story - click here) which will herald the arrival of a new team – Ultimate Signature – on the World Series by Renault stage.
Ultimate Signature will be based at Ultimate's workshops in England and will race under a French licence. The World Series by Renault will introduce a new car for 2008, to be powered by a 3.5-litre V6 engine, and the calendar will visit many of the leading racing circuits around Europe.
“In a short space of time we have come a very long way,” concluded Walsh, “and our season in British F3 has taught us a lot. Now, thanks to the renowned expertise of Signature, we are able to take the next step up in an exciting joint venture. We will be driven by passion, as well as the pursuit of sporting excellence.”
