Thanks to the new partnership between Ultimate Motorsport and Signature Plus, Esteban Guerrieri will line up on the grid for the end of season Macau Formula 3 Grand Prix after signing up to race for the French team at the challenging street circuit.
Guerrieri, who helped Ultimate develop the new Mygale chassis through the 2007 British F3 International Series season, will switch to Signatures' Mercedes-powered Dallara, with a number of other key members of the team joining the Argentine driver in making the trio to the Chinese enclave.
"There has been a lot going on behind the scenes at Ultimate since the end of the British F3 season and we are all very excited by the new collaboration we will have with Signature for the World Series by Renault next season,” team manager Jonny Ostrowski said. "It is this collaboration that has enabled Esteban to get on the grid for the Macau F3 race and he is very excited to be getting back on track for what is an amazing event.
“Teamwork is vital in this sport, which is why Ultimate is sending a number of the team to support him. It would be great to end what has been a very successful season with an involvement in a strong performance for Esteban and Signature this weekend. We know the competition is strong, but Signature are a strong force in F3 and we are looking forward to the event."
Guerrieri enjoyed a fine run in the opening qualifying session of the weekend to set the fifth quickest time – leading the Signature challenge and second behind poleman Marko Asmer of the drivers representing the British series.
"Macau is one of the biggest races on the motorsport calendar and it is great to be going there this year with Signature for this 'one off' while still having the support of my team at Ultimate,” he said. “Macau is a very unusual circuit but if we can get a good qualifying we could do something in the race."
