Britain will be represented with leading Formula 3 Euroseries team ASM again after revealing to have signed Jon Lancaster to race for them in 2008.
Lancaster shot to prominence in the latter stages of 2007 after finishing as the runner-up for the Formula Renault Eurocup title, a season that included him winning five of the final eight races.
His performance has duly earned him the chance to compete with crack French outfit ASM, Euroseries champions for the last four seasons, most recently with Romain Grosjean last month.
Signalling a return to the British driver policy that saw Jamie Green,
Lewis Hamilton and Paul di Resta contribute to three of those titles, Lancaster is thrilled to have landed a potential championship challenging seat.
“We are very, very pleased to have signed the contract this weekend with ASM, to compete in next year's Euro Formula 3 Championship.
"They are one of the leading teams in Europe and we just cannot wait now for the new season to start. And we really must thank David Hayle of Hitech for his help and support in furthering Jon's career. It has been very much appreciated.”
Lancaster, who turns 19 next month, tested for Frederic Vasseur's team last month, a run that resulted in an almost immediate deal. He will test for the team again in December.
