Trouble-free day for Ericsson.

The Fortec Motorsport squad completed a trouble-free day of running with its new Mercedes-powered Dallara F308 last week as Marcus Ericsson hit the track at Silverstone.

The teenager, who will graduate to Formula 3 this season after clinching the Formula BMW UK title in 2007, completed over 50 laps of the Grand Prix circuit, with the day going without a hitch despite damp weather conditions.

"The test was incredibly valuable to us at this time of the year in preparation for next season," Ericsson's race engineer Andrew Scott said. "It ran faultlessly all day and generated a lot of valuable feedback from Marcus.

"It's a step forward in many ways but presents a considerable development from the aero-package of F307."

Ericsson will be partnered by another young driver Philip Major during the 2008 season.
