TanderSport will add a second Dallara F307 chassis to its 2008 Kumho Tyres Australian F3 Championship campaign after agreeing to run an ex-Euroseries Mercedes-Benz-powered example on behalf of owner James Rosenberg.
While a driver for the second car will be announced within the next few weeks, the team's first HWA -Mercedes engine arrived at its new Melbourne factory on 30 December and, following an overhaul of the car and application of a new livery, TanderSport will begin testing in preparation for the opening round at Eastern Creek on 3 February. The car, to be driven by Leanne Tander in 2008, is currently still in Europe and will be prepared overseas before being freighted, complete with engine, to Australia mid-January.
”We are very pleased to be able to add a second F307 Dallara to TanderSport this season,” team owner Garth Tander said, ”It's always good to have two identical cars to compare data and set-up information. This definitely strengthens our team and will give us an extra boost to challenge for the Gold Star once again in 2008.
“As a one-car team, we challenged strongly for the championship for all of last season, so to strengthen our team like this essentially doubles our chances of winning, and shows how serious TanderSport is when it comes to winning in F3. It's a great way to start the New Year."
