Ultimate Motorsport has confirmed that it will continue to run the Mygale chassis for the 2008 British F3 International Series season.
The team, which made its debut last season, was the only team to run the Mygale chassis during 2007 with steady improvement throughout the campaign with the car – with both Esteban Guerrieri and Michael Devaney securing best finishes of fourth place during the course of the year.
Ultimate will now use a new and updated Mygale for its second season in British F3 while also continuing its partnership with Mercedes for an engine supply.
"We are delighted to be continuing our partnership with Mygale and Mercedes for our second season in British F3, a season in which we hope to score the first F3 victory for ourselves and Mygale," team owner Barry Walsh said.
"Last year was a learning year for all of us – and we learned fast. We developed a very strong relationship with Mygale and that is one of the key reasons we are working together again in 2008."
The decision to continue with Mygale comes after careful consideration of the future options for the team, with Devaney putting in a solid performance during the shakedown of the car in December alongside the Dallara chassis run by rival teams.
"We considered our options carefully for 2008 and were very impressed by the new Mygale car," team manager Jonny Ostrowski enthused. "We feel it has great potential and we should give our fellow competitors a tough time this season.
"The new car's performance is testament to all the hard work put in by Mygale and Ultimate last year and although we are no longer the sole Mygale team we are looking forward to developing an even closer relationship this season.
"We have also committed to using the Mercedes HWA engine again and are confident that the combination will provide us with a strong opportunity to chase podiums and victories."
