Will Bratt continued to acclimatise well to the Spanish Formula 3 Championship during his second day of testing in Valencia with the British driver concluding the test a highly impressive third fastest on the timesheets overall.
The 19-year-old, driving for EmiliodeVillota.com Motorsport, enjoyed an excellent debut on Monday at the Ricardo Tormo Circuit with the third fastest time and then matched his placing during day two, but improved his performance after a highly promising run.
“I think we're probably about half a second adrift of the pace we need to challenge for wins in the championship which isn't bad at all considering today was only my second ever outing in a Formula 3 car,” he said.
“We did have a small clutch problem but we managed to complete plenty of laps and did a good job. The conditions were much warmer and pleasant today, around 25 degrees, so that made the day's testing very enjoyable.”
Having been impressed by the professionalism of Emilio de Villota's team over the course of the last two days in Valencia, Bratt is now looking forward to having the opportunity to race with the front-running squad in the Spanish F3 series this year.
“The team is very smart, very professional and well organised and I'm very pleased with how the last two days have gone,” he said. “Emilio and his guys know what they're doing. Obviously we haven't seen all of the 2008 drivers in action yet so we don't know the true picture but I'm feeling confident we're heading in the right direction.”
