Spanish F3 runners contemplate coming home.

Spanish F3 runners Team West-Tec could be set to take up a challenge closer to home with an entry into the British F3 International Series.

The Rockingham-based squad secured Class B honours in Spanish F3 last season with Christian Ebbesvik and will expand to run cars in both classes this season, with Ebbesvik being joined by British duo Alex Water and Jonathan Legris and Portuguese ace Francisco Villar.

However, in looking ahead, the team could now take on a limited programme back in Britain during 2008 alongside its Spanish commitments with the possibility of a full season on home soil then following in 2009.

"Our Spanish operation has been very successful and we have signed four excellent drivers for that team for 2008, and we have turned away at least as many again," team principal John Miller said. "We do have drivers who would like to do some British F3 and so we are looking at it now.

"With our Superleague Formula commitments, that championship is starting to attract a lot of interest from young drivers and F3 is an ideal great place to develop them towards that.

"We actually have drivers for both Classes A and B, although perhaps National Class would be the best way to go initially, as we have great experience with the Dallara F307 chassis from our Spanish exploits, and where we have been setting the pace in testing at Valencia and Jarama so far this year."
