Oliver Turvey will be looking to start his first season in the British F3 International Series in style this weekend as the new campaign kicks off at
Oulton Park.
The 2006
McLaren Autosport BRDC young driver of the year award winner will move into F3 for the first time having spent last season running in the Formula Renault Eurocup, with the Cumbrian being one of four rookie drivers running in the International Class for the team during the coming campaign.
With a solid testing programme under his belt at the wheel of his Mercedes-powered Dallara, Turvey will now hope to start his campaign in solid fashion at the Cheshire venue.
"I'm really looking forward to the first race of the season and very excited to be with Carlin in F3," he said. "Our-pre season testing has gone very well, we've been competitive everywhere. Hopefully we'll carry that momentum into this weekend and be at the front.
"Oulton Park is one of my favourite tracks, its very challenging with lots of different corners. Thanks to the backing of the Racing Steps Foundation, I've been able to complete a full test programme before the start of the season. I've been able to test at different tracks and in different weather conditions and consequently feel much more prepared and confident.
"Hopefully I will be able to get a good result for the Racing Steps Foundation in their first ever race this weekend."
