Tander hopes to move up the order while Crighton signs on.

He's not without Australian experience, however, having completed several rounds of the Formula 4000 / Formula Holden championship in 2005 and 2006; included in that campaign was a round at Oran Park, giving him some vital experience at the challenging, undulating circuit.

“I'm really looking forward to making my Formula 3 debut with TanderSport,” he said. “I had a good run at Hamilton [in the Toyota Racing Series] and hopefully we can continue that with a good performance this weekend. I have run at Oran Park before so I'm not completely in the dark but it will be a learning experience, getting used to the cars and the series.

”The series looks competitive. I'm not looking at setting the world on fire so I'll be happy if I can run with the top guys in the National Class.”
