Jamie Alguersuari survived an incident packed qualifying session at Rockingham for round eight of the British F3 International Series to take his third pole position of the season.
Another wet session, the Spaniard avoided the multiple yellow and red flags to secure a time good enough to place him three tenths up on Sebastien Hohenthal, the Swede improving on fifth for the first race of the weekend.
Indeed, it was those who managed to get their laps in before being stymied by cautions that prevailed, with Oliver Turvey securing third on the grid in the second Carlin Motorsport car, while race one pole sitter Max Chilton has set himself up for a good weekend with fourth on the grid.
Once again, Andy Meyrick was untouchable in the National Class, the Carlin racer securing his best ever qualifying position in fifth overall and starting ahead of several more fancied runners, including two of his International Class counterparts at Carlin.
Atte Mustonen will start sixth, ahead of Michael Devaney in the leading Mygale entry. The Mygale seemed to improve between the sessions as Nick Tandy made it two of the French chassis makers' cars in the top ten, the JTR racer starting ninth.
Marcus Ericsson sits between the two in eighth, with championship leader Sergio Perez a disappointing tenth in his T-Sport Dallara-Mugen Honda.
