Brendon Hartley has scored his second British Formula 3 pole position of the season at a very damp and rainy
Snetterton.
Improving from his fourth place starting position for the first race, Hartley's pole position is his first since
Croft, a race he went on to win, while the race does also signal Carlin Motorsport's fifth in ten races.
He will start alongside Fortec's Sebastien Hohenthal, but both title contenders will be wary of the championship leader Sergio Perez starting just behind in third.
Race one pole sitter Michael Devaney completed Ultimate Motorsport's good day with fourth on the grid, ahead of Atte Mustonen and Carlin pairing Jamie Alguersuari and Oliver Turvey.
Marcus Ericsson in the second Fortec will start seventh, ahead of Nick Tandy, who completed a breakthrough day for himself and the JTR team by placing his Mygale eighth on the grid for race two. Sam Abay and Max Chilton rounded out the top ten.
In the National Class, Stefan Wilson produced his first pole position of the season, the Fluid Motorsport driver edging out team-mate Jay Bridger for 12th and 13th on the grid.H
