Brendon Hartley continued Carlin's strong form at
Thruxton by securing a second pole of the day for the team ahead of the latest rounds of the British F3 International Series.
Having qualified second behind team-mate Jaime Alguesurari for race one, Hartley moved to the front for race two with a best lap of 1min 06.695secs – the quickest of the day – putting him ahead of fellow Carlin man Oliver Turvey, who finished one place higher than he had done in the first session.
Marcus Ericsson continued to be the leading non-Carlin man with the third quickest time ahead of Nick Tandy, who was an impressive fourth at the wheel of the JTR Marshall Westland Mygale. Atte Mustonen and Sergio Perez completed the top six ahead of points leader Alguersuari, who could only add a seventh place to his earlier pole. John Martin, Seb Hohenthal and Michael Devaney completed the top ten.
In the National Class, Jay Bridger took pole for Fluid Motorsport after points leader Andy Meyrick went off and brought out the red flags early on in the session. Behind Bridger, Steven Guerrero was second quickest from Stefan Wilson, while Meyrick will start from the final row of the grid having managed just four laps during the session.
