After finding last minute funds to allow him to race in the weekend's latest rounds of the British Formula 3 championship at
Snetterton, Will Davison has been forced to part company with Menu Motorsport and sit on the sidelines.
“It's all over unfortunately with Menu," explains the Australian driver. "I told them we're out before I left the circuit because financially there's no way we can continue. I don't know what I'll do now but I'll certainly be missing the next few F3 races at the very least.
"It's been an up and down year but certainly not for a lack of trying from both myself and the team. I'd love to stay here in England and prove I can regularly finish on the podium. If not, then I'll weigh up all of my options and see what develops from there.
Davison's weekend at Snetterton saw three races, but no repeat of podium results that the driver has achieved before. "It was a pretty ordinary sort of weekend in terms of results,” said Davison. “We all tried our best, but simply could not find the ultimate pace. I went down a different setup path to my team-mate which did not work out for me in qualifying, and he outpaced me for the first time all year.
“I went back to base setup for the race and managed to outpace him. I had to try something as I knew that we had to find some time from somewhere.
“I'm frustrated it did not work out better. I really like the whole Menu team and they certainly tried hard to make the situation better. I've worked very hard on myself and become a much better driver.
“I'll continue working as hard as I ever have and if another opportunity arises over here, I can guarantee I'll be ready to win again. I've won at this level before and I know I can do it again."
A difficult weekend was the order of the day for the 21-year-old from Melbourne, who drove the wheels off his Dallara/Opel to pass plenty of cars from a lowly qualifying position in two of the races at the Norfolk circuit.
