The
Snetterton weekend featured three races rather than the regular two, with the postponed Silverstone race (put off due to bad weather) also added to the schedule.
With grid positions determined by the qualifying session held at
Silverstone, Davison started Saturday's first race in eighth spot and made his customary flying start to rocket up to fifth.
But a clash with Carlin Motorsport driver Clivio Piccione damaged his car and spun him back to the rear of the field. Davison drove back through to a creditable 13th by race's end.
The Australian was again in charging form in the second race, showing true grit to carve his way into the championship points and finish eighth from well outside the top ten.
"I drove as hard as I could in that race. We had pretty good race pace and caught up to my team-mate Fairuz (Fauzy) as well as the pack in front of me. We had the fourth fastest lap of the race."
Another low qualifying position was forced upon Davison for the third race after two punctures in qualifying that meant he couldn't record a completely representative time.
"We really struggled for pace in qualifying," added Davison. "It's as simple as that and we just could not get the time out of the car. It really left us all scratching our heads."
In the final race Davison again charged and worked his way up to eighth, but was bumped back to tenth after contact with Lucas di Grassi's Hitech car.
"I overtook heaps of cars but it's so hard to come through the field when the cars are so close. I'm happy with the results considering the problems we had over the course of the weekend."
Davison will remain in England in the immediate future to weigh up his options, but admits that returning to Australia is a possibility.
"We'll work through our options over the next few days and see where we end up. There's been some interest from V8 Supercar teams back home in Australia so that's nice to know that my efforts are being noticed but I really want to stay overseas."
