They may be the outsiders for the FIA GT Championship, but it didn't stop Karl Wendlinger and Ryan Sharp from storming to the final pole position of the 2007 season at Zolder.

The Aston Martin DBR9 posted a quickest time of 1min 25.812secs to snare top spot ahead of the Scuderia Playteam Sarafree Maserati of Alessandro Pier Guidi and Giambattista Giannoccaro which split the two Jetallinance cars to take second on the grid.

Carsport Holland pairing Mike Hezemans and Jean-Denis Deletraz will line up fourth alongside Lukas Lichtner-Hoyer and Robert Lechner, with Anthony Kumpen and Bert Longin in the PK Carsport Corvette fifth and points leader Thomas Biagi sixth in the Vitaphone Maserati he shares with Michael Bartels.

Of the other title hopefuls, Miguel Ramos and Christian Montanari will start ninth for Vitaphone, one place behind the similar Maserati of Andrea Bertolini and Andrea Piccini.

In GT2, pole went the way of Toni Vilander and Dirk Muller in the AF Corse Ferrari with team-mates Gianmaria Bruni and Stephane Ortelli – currently one point behind in the standings – in third. The Scuderia Ecosse car of Tim Mullen and Darren Turner splits the title hopefuls.

The only other pairing still in with contention, Manu Collard and Matteo Malucelli start seventh in the BMS Scuderia Italia Porsche.
