The new CR Scuderia team has revealed its colour-scheme for the 2008 season and also the backers that will support the team during its debut campaign of racing action.
The team, headed by Chris Niarchos and Andrew Kirkaldy, will run cars in the
FIA and British GT Championships and in the Formula Renault UK Championship, with all the cars to run in a blue, red and white colour-scheme.
Niarchos will be joined by Tim Mullen in one of the GT2
Ferrari 430s that will contest the FIA series while Kirkaldy will be partnered by LMS GT2 title winner Rob Bell in the sister car. In Formula Renault, Adam Christodolou and Scott Jenkins are the first drivers confirmed while Jenkins' younger brother Sam will be backed by Niarchos' Cobra Group in Karting. The remaining Renault drivers and the line-up for the British GT Championship has yet to be revealed.
A key part of the programme is a series of commercial partnerships unveiled at the
Autosport International show in Birmingham, amongst them a multi-year deal with BSkyB to promote its TV, broadband and telephone services.
“From day one I have said it is vitally important for us to enter our first year of racing on a solid commercial footing,” Niarchos said. “We are proud to run the Sky brand across our three race programmes and believe that this partnership will provide many opportunities for the team and for Sky in the coming years.
“We are equally delighted to have forged new relationships with some fantastic commercial partners and look forward to getting out on track and making them proud to be a part of this team.”
