Having switched teams over the winter, Paolo Ruberti admits that he can't wait for the new
FIA GT Championship season to kick off next weekend at
Silverstone.
The Italian driver moves from the Edil Cris Racing Team to rivals BMS Scuderia Italia for 2008, with his new team set to run the same
Ferrari 430 he campaigned during 2007.
Ruberti will line up alongside Matteo Malucelli for the coming campaign and he said he was excited about the new challenges that lie ahead.
"The new challenge with BMS Scuderia Italia is extremely exciting," he said. "We had some positive indications from pre-seasonal tests and for this reason we reckon we can be in the battle for the front positions, even if several crews will be able to fight at the front. The feeling with the team has been immediate and so was that with Malucelli, a quick driver that I always regarded very highly.
"No matter how things will go at Silverstone, I think we will need at least three races before having a clear idea of who can really aim at the title. Concretely, our objective is to win some races but I wouldn't mind having higher targets in the final part of the season."
