The
FIA GT championship will be screened in Britain on
ITV4 this season, with all rounds shown either live or on a same-day delayed basis.
The channel, which is available on satellite networks as well on cable and via
Freeview, the digital terrestrial TV network, will begin by showing the opening two-hour race at
Silverstone this weekend in full, with coverage starting at mid-day and including the grid ceremonies.
Additionally, qualifying will be shown on cable and satellite channel
Men & Motors, which will also show the two one-hour FIA GT3 European Championship races - the first on Saturday and the second on Sunday. A 52-minute highlights programme of the FIA GT Championship will be shown on
Sky Sports, while the 26-minute highlights will be shown on Channel 4.
"This is an excellent opportunity for the FIA GT Championship," commented Stephane Ratel, CEO of SRO, promoter of the FIA GT Championship and the FIA GT3 European Championship. "We hope that the
ITV4 television spectators will enjoy the magnificent cars and fantastic, close racing and will enjoy following the Championship throughout what promises to be an exceptionally exciting season!"
The coverage for the United Kingdom completes the broadcast schedule already announced previously for the championship.
Live coverage will be available in France and French-speaking areas on
Sport +, from the
Canal + group, including highlights of the FIA GT3 European Championship. There will also be improved live coverage on leading German sports TV channel
DSF, making this season's races available in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
Sky Italia will broadcast live in Italy, as will
Sport 1 in the Netherlands and
Sport TV in Portugal, while TV Sport 5 in the Czech and Slovak Republics will show the FIA GT and FIA GT3 European Championship live, with highlights of the national GT Championships promoted by the SRO Motorsports Group.
