Motors TV has announced that it will screen round four of the
FIA GT Championship
LIVE from Oschersleben on Sunday having agreed a deal to take over the coverage for the rest of the season.
The 'High Speed Television' channel already boasts an impressive portfolio of sportscar coverage, including live Le Mans Series and American Le Mans Series action and highlights of the British, French and Belgian GT championships, and now completes the set of the world's top sportscar series.
"We are delighted to have added the FIA GT Championship to our featured live championships. It is the world's most prestigious GT-racing category and the races so far this year have been very closely fought," said
Motors TV's head of programming Fr้d้ric Viger.
"With four drivers tied at the top of the GT1 standings, and just five points covering the top eight, Sunday's race at Oschersleben is set to be a fascinating one for our viewers to enjoy."
The FIA GT Championship features classes for GT1 and GT2 machinery and includes entries from prestigious marques such as Aston Martin, Lamborghini, Corvette, Maserati,
Ferrari and Porsche. The series is made up of ten, two-hour races at some of Europe's finest circuits and in 2008 will conclude with a trip to San Luis in Argentina.
Sunday's LIVE and uninterrupted coverage begins at 12.00 UK time.
To date this year the FIA GT Championship had been shown in the UK on
ITV4.
