Gigawave Motorsport has announced the signing of Le Mans 24 Hours winner Darren Turner for the Spa 24 Hours next month.

Turner, winner of the GT1 class with the factory Aston Martin Racing team for the past two years, will join Philipp Peter and Allan Simonsen at the wheel of the teams Aston Martin DBR9 for its first assault on a 24 hour long endurance race.

The team will be chasing a strong result at the Belgian circuit after the disappointment of Oschersleben when it was forced to pull out of the most recent round of the FIA GT Championship following an engine mounting issue on the car.

Andy Thompson, Gigawave MotorSport's test driver, will also head to Spa as the team's designated spare driver, following his podium finish in the GT3 race at Oschersleben in the Ascari KZ-1R of Team Berlanga.
